1. Creating Your Own Google Maps API Key
Google has started requiring billing information for use of their Google Maps API, which may be causing loading issues with the store locator on your website. To fix this issue we now ask that you set up your own API key which we can add to your website.
The Google Maps API offers $200 of credit for free each month, which should be plenty for smaller traffic websites. For larger traffic websites consult the pricing calculator here for the “Maps JavaScript API” section: https://mapsplatform.google.com/pricing/
To create a Google Maps API key, head to https://mapsplatform.google.com/ and follow these instructions.
2. Enable Billing For Your Project
To ensure we can successfully update your store locator, please make sure billing is enabled on your Google Cloud account. Without billing enabled, your API key will not work and may cause errors on your site.
You can enable billing here: Enable Billing for Your Project
3. Add Domain to Allowed List of URLS
To ensure we can successfully update your store locator, please make sure you've added the correct domain to your website to the allowed list of URLs on your Google Cloud account.
You can add domain to allowed list using these video instructions: Add Domain to Allowed List of URLs
4. Send Your API Key to CP Support
Once billing is active and your API key is ready, please email it to support@cannaplanners.com along with your website URL so that we can update your store locator. If you run into any issues, feel free to reach out to our support team for assistance.
